I don't know what you are trying to imply TrumpetNick.....Felix does have pic's of the used horns that he is selling and would probally send you more if you asked him to do so....If you check on TM for all the dealings everyone else on here has had with Felix and the NY trumpet Co. Everything has been top notch.

| Forte User | Re: Oh boy, here we go... Auggi, I am not trying to imply anything. Felix sure have made fine horns, and I really fancy to try one day the signature Stage 1 flugel if I get an opportunity to. It is really looking ace! So it is the spada, just a bit different. Felix has very fine horns to offer, so has Rene Spada. There is no a problem at all for me. For the moment while Felix includes in the used horns section photos, the Spada website does not, so I guess that if asked, they will send pictures to anyone interested in their horns. OK. We were speaking of trumpets and not flugels.... I am sure that there is things that spada does , but Felix doesn't offer and Felix can offer things that Spada doesn't for one reason or another. That is normal, that's why some of us may have horns from al different brands like NYTC, Spada, Eclipse, Monette, Courtois, Bach, Stomvi, Schagerl, Scherzer and god knows what else. All these can offer top quality instruments but everyone of them will have such and such advantage and such and such disadvantage. Just normal. Nothing to mess with. I am sorry if I have given a wrong impression.

![]() | Re: Oh boy, here we go... I would reccomend trying Felix and the NYTC. I have recently gotten my custom Cal. and he is a pleasure to deal with. Top notch is an understatement. If you are interested in the schilkes contact Larry at Stus Music in Westminter Md. 1 800 908 7585. He has quite a few in stock and is usually willing to work some shipping and trying out time with customers. Good luck, it does end up being fun. |

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Oh boy, here we go... Sorry I haven't been able to reply in some time. We're getting close to finals, and let's just say I haven't had a chance to be bored in some time. I intend to enter the contest as soon as my writer's block goes away. Plus I have get the rest of the entry done. But that requires time I really haven't had, but I hopefully will get in. As for why it's time to put the Studio down, the valves are shot. It's also never really been a good fit in our symphonic band section. I've played around with oral cavity shape, and went with a deeper cup mouthpiece, but it's still just not really fitting in (I blame that solid nickel bell flare). It's an outstanding horn for commercial work, and if I was playing a lot more jazz and such than I am, I'd simply replate the valves (if they aren't already beyond that point). As an update, I've narrowed the Yamahas down to the 8335 RGS, but right now the frontrunner is a Kanstul. I'll probably be calling Jack sometime this week to see what he thinks.
