I love it.

I think we all should have a special place in our hearts for the Olds Ambassador. Built to be played until doomsday, they can be turned into amazing, competitive players for nothing near the cost normally expected. I love it.

Olds Conversion

Would you mind telling us what you paid to have your Ambassador converted to a C trumpet?

Eric Peterson

GZEnt,

Would you know if Eric Peterson is still making Eb trumpets out of Bbs? He works out of Minneapolis.

Sol,

Sorry, I don't have any info on him. It sounds interesting though.

DCB,

Sure. First the Ambassador was completely disassembled and minor dents removed. Then the 1st, 3rd and tuning slides were reversed and shortened. A permanent ring was added to the 3rd slide and a U hook to first slide. The extra bracing around the valves and on the 1st and 3rd slides was discarded.
Standard water keys were installed. Bach style top cap rings were installed. The remaining laquer was stripped and the finish scratched.
