![]() | damn you Lara, STOP SHOWING OFF!!!!!!!!!! I tried to get up to leigh's while you were there but alas I got stuck at work..... As usual Leigh and the crew did a fantastic job on the finish. So does the xeno get consigned to marching???? Hopfully I might be able to win the next comp he puts on. |

![]() ![]() | Your trumpets I hope that you are aware and thankful to be the child of loving parents who can afford for their daughter to use a Xeno for a marching horn and support your musical talent. I was lucky in the same way. My dad and grandpa provided me with the best of equipment and very able teaching, even though they sometimes argued about what the other was teaching me. I think that grandpa pushed me harder than my dad did, and that was good for me. Grandpa refused to accept anything less than superlative performance from me and until he died, he attended every performance that I played in, praising or condemning me, depending on how well he thought I had done and making me work ever harder on my weaknesses. BTW, they were both VERY accomplished trumpeters/cornetists. I have heard many cornetists in my long life, but, in my mind, grandpa was the equal of the very best. My dad excelled as a lyrical trumpeter, and a mighty good one too. We did a lot of gospel trio work together in churches all over western Michigan. I miss those days and the fierce pride that I had for my dad and grandpa. They were GOOD, and good men too. I hope that people will think as highly of me when I am gone as the public thought of them.
