![]() | Hi Mike, Well...anything can be "edited" as long as no one "steals" from another. Conceivably you could change your entire entry, as long as it's original. Hypothetically, if two entries were identical in some way, the first one posted would have "dibs", correct? It wouldn't be very wise to copy something that someone posted "before" you, would it? Most of this falls into the realm of common sense. If someone copied my entry from the first contest they wouldn't have success with it, because it's been done before. Leigh likes to be both challenged and surprised. And, if someone did cheat you guys would be all over them like...flies on manure! The world would hear about it...literally! This contest is very "out in the open" and "above board". That's the only "right way" to do it and still send everybody home happy. All the best.

| Mezzo Piano User | Paul, Thanks for the feedback. I spent a few hours reviewing the entries to make sure I didn't copy anything. As for what was entered last year, I have no knowledge of those entries except your entry because it won. As always, you have been a big help.

![]() | copyrights? First off- many of the ideas by other contestants are brilliant. I wish you guys could make all of these horns. My question is whether or not Eclipse would get hit with copyright laws if somebody were to win the contest with a registered trademark (i.e. Matrix code on the horn)? |

![]() | Hi Trumpetfro! Welcome to TM. To be honest i dont actually know the answer to that ! I would imagine that someone on here will know enough about these type of laws to chime in and help us all out. Put it this way, i would not have a problem with it at all. But it would be nice to find out for sure! Great question. Regards Leigh

![]() | I do know that the "Artist Formerly Known As Prince" has copyrighted the "symbol" which has replaced his name. So I imagine, as an example, that it would not be legal for that to be a "part" of a horn (a retail item) without prior written permission. If something is legally protected then it is probably wise to assume that it is "hands off", regardless of how innocent a contestants motives may be. Be well.
