Re: THE PRIZE: 2007 Eclipse Contest!

As an alumnus of this fine contest I am very happy for all who have entered and I wish you the best of luck. Leigh and company will not disappoint and someone will have a fine new horn soon. Now that I have looked at the prize I have one comment: Is it just me or does this instrument look like it has been collaborated with Jason Harrelson? The rings and bracing look alot like his design?

Re: THE PRIZE: 2007 Eclipse Contest!

Hi Folks

Yes is it a Medium Red Bb

I decided to give out our best seller but with some custom changes.
All covered of course with 24kt gold plate.

Although not in the photos, the winner will also get the usual t shirt jacket towel etc etc

I hope you like the trumpet.

Lets get a lot more entries for this!!

Regards

Leigh

Well, one thing is for sure; all those arguments about Jason Harrelsons trumpets are settled now!

Jason's stuff MUST be good if the likes of Leigh McKinney is copying it.....

Oh. It's just his best selling MR Bb trumpet in 24kt gold plate, with a couple of custom changes. I'm quite disappointed. At least there is the jacket, towels and t-shirt still to go for....

Only joking!!!!!
Pinch me. I still can't stop staring at it.

Leigh. I won't get penalised for having a warped sense of humour will I? I DO want to win, honest...I'll shut up and keep working on my entry. You won't hear another peep out of me until I've finished it.

Nice horn if you have girl fingers that fit through the holes.

Re: THE PRIZE: 2007 Eclipse Contest!

Oh sure... he promised that I would get to see it first: he delays weeks and weeks and finally I have to go out of town on 1 overnight trip and up go the photos! (along with 396 posts!) I guess his teasing isn't reserved just for entrants.

Great looking horn, Leigh. The winner will be some pleased (as are all of the past winners!)

ps: the seafood in Vancouver was bloody GREAT!

I'll admit to having girl fingers if it gets me that Trumpet!!! Actually, I've met Leigh, and he ain't got no girl fingers.

Toots.
What's the beer like in Vancouver. I'm thinking it's a little far for me to go for just the seafood, even though I LOVE seafood. If the beer's good as well, it could be worth it. Although if I could afford to fly out to Vancouver, I could spend the money on an ECLIPSE instead. But if I had the money for the ECLIPSE and then won one, I could spend the money on going to Vancouver, take the prize with me, we could meet up for some seafood and a beer and then go play trumpet duets on our ECLIPSES. Am I getting ahead of myself here?...

Pants, I just broke my vow of silence...

Re: THE PRIZE: 2007 Eclipse Contest!

The beer in Vancouver is just bloody great; they have more micro-brewhouses there than you can shake a stick at. I recommend just about anything from Granville Island Breweries. (and if you don't like that you can always "settle" for something from the UK!... although we do like to drink it cold)

Seafood? How about 24 different varieties of oysters (seems every little bay has its own), three or four varieties of salmon, Alaskan halibut, King crab.......(burp), Mahi mahi, Pacific cod, red snapper, Arctic char, lake trout, swordfish, shark, and on and on. Tough to go wrong; (the place we went to is called "Joe Fortes" just off Robson at Thurlow but there are several great seafood restaurants in town).
