| Fortissimo User | And I never said "Schilke or Eclipse!" (I didn't reveal all). Anyway..... I was looking around and discovered.... the new Schilke website is up! Awesome site. Check it out http://www.schilkemusic.com/ . |

![]() | Well, their new site is better than their old site, but that ain't saying much. For a company with such a great product, their advertising has always sucked. Adding Flash to a site doesn't make it great. Look at Eclipse for an example of what a site can be. Dave

![]() | My first C trumpet was a Schilke C3L. I also had a Bach 25 bell (cut for C) that I was able to use with it. But, by and large, this was one of the best trumpets I have ever owned. The only problem that I found with it was that it was too small for orchestral work, even with the Bach bell on it. But, the horn played and sound great in smaller settings. I wish I would have never gotten rid of it. But, at least I still have my Bach 25 bell that is collecting dust. |

![]() | I've owned a B5, a B1Lb, and an S22. All are fantastic horns. The B1Lb is one of the most responsive horns on the planet. And my S22 has a fat resonant core and is very stable on the hard stuff. They are all very different, and seem tailored to specific kinds of music...the S22 is probably the better all-around horn, while the B1Lb had the purest, sweetest sound. But it was not ideal in certain settings where a heavier, more secure horn was called for. All 3 had/have the best fit and finish I've seen on any trumpet anywhere. I'm with Dave--the new Schilke site is pretty sad, unfortunately. |
