| Piano User | Re: Stage 1 Trumpets...Help? I'm thinking about getting one. Hey there Michael, It was simply...jaw-droppingly refreshing. To have someone that actually care s about what you want SO much as to talk to you on AIM?! Wow. I'll be bringing at least one of them, and my girlfriend. I can't wait to try out my setup. You've already talked to him about it?! Wow. What do you think? I think I'm going to be brave and go with the rimless bell... Russ |

Though I have never played a rimless bell instrument, I understand that the sound is more, umm, "alive!" Not to worry, the rimless bell will be fine! My wife and I will be manning the booth - see you there!! Blessings,

![]() | Re: Stage 1 Trumpets...Help? I'm thinking about getting one. Dubba and Miles et al, I guess I might as well out with it. I bought a Stage 1. Felix was nice enough to listen to my ideas to make a NY #7 Model, and his input was so valuable. She'll be lacquer, med-large bore, #7 leadpipe, gold brass bell as close to the NY 7 bell as possible. 1st and 3rd rings. No saddle. Removeable crook on 3rd valve slide, no spit valve on 3rd. Nice nickel accents reminscent of the mid 30's #7's. Narrow bracing. I'm pretty gassed. I hope my '58 K-Modified doesn't get jealous! Happy Practicing, Richard Oliver |

Felix is okay, I guess. I mean, if you "have" to work with a guy who does special order mouthpieces, talks/works with you throughout the process of choosing a horn and it's components, has contests where he gives away things - and even tailors the prize to what you need - I guess he's okay.... (I still like those cheerleaders...haha)

I've even put myself on a limb and paid my horn off today so he can start early(I don't even get to play test them until TMEA-about Valentine's Day). Felix is amazing, he said I'll get to play test the horn before it's finished-and GUARANTEED I will love it, or he will fix it to how I DO love it-or my money back!?!? What?! Talk about service...THIS is how the trumpet industry needs to be...I'm never going back now..my flugel will be the NY. :) |
