I tried the P5-4, P7-4 and the Stomvi range at the Frankfurt Musikmesse (arguably the world largest music fair). The P7-4 is the easiest playing picc that I have ever played - even although I used a Schilke mouthpiece that I was not used to (a 15B). I did not have a cornet shank picc mouthpiece with me and the Stomvi intonation was AWFUL with my Monette trumpet shank picc mouthpiece. The sound was very nice, but it was really designed for the other smaller shank.
There is no way that I can recommend a picc however. The differences in sound from player to player are simply too great. The Schilkes are too brilliant (bright) for me. I did ask if they would consider doing one in gold brass. Andrew Naumann (the boss) did not rule it out...................
