![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Strange Bach 37 I came across a strange Bach 37 yesterday. The serial number was in the 44,000s It read Bach Strad 37 on the bell. The body looked like a strad. The valves had the serial number stamped on em Weird things: There was no hook on the first valve slide. The first valve slide was not constructed like modern Strads. The tuning slide was short. Not a full length slide. Any ideas. I'm not much of a historian. I've picked up a bunch of Bach Bb strads in my day and none of em looked like this. I'll post some pics that I took on my phone when I get the chance. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thumb hooks were not always on Bach Strads. The leadpipe on some Mt Vernon horns was much too short, it was not unusual to pull the tuning slide out quite a bit. I am not a fan of some of the Mt Vernon horns for that reason. The wrap seems wider on some of these late Mt Vernon horns. Wilmer
