![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies Joe - no "mean-ness" intended. More of a "Come on, vendors, Monette players have been asking for a usable trumpet stand for years - somebody build them one." For that matter, given what a new Monette costs, why isn't a stand already part of the deal? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies Interesting tool, this pitch finder! On the already too low 4th space E, Eb and D we can adjust the intonation even lower............. I am sorry, a gadget to fix a problem that doesn't belong there in the first place is not what I had in mind. GZENT is right, why haven't any of the accessory companies targeted Monette users with stands - they are obviously willing to spend money on a product that they believe in!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies Nick, it is most interesting to have an in tune trumpet - the technology is there. Putting a band aid like a pitch finder on an inferior horn just makes the bad more complicated!

![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies I think it's a good idea. I have a pretty good trumpet and I use my slides all the time. On my trumpet G, just above the staff is sharp. This would make one operation work for all the first and third operations and fix the G problem. |

![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies Has an octave or "Vienna" key ever been applied to a piston valve trumpet? If so to what effect? I know turning your tuning slide upside down with the water key on the top has a similar if only inefficient/doubtful effect. B |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies The purpose of the pitchfinder, (beyond getting some out of tune notes into tune on an out-or-tune instrument) allow tuning chords, and yeah, tuning to an out of tune orchestra. I'd like to see some sort of a cam system, like rock-climbers "friends" for tuning bell instruments, replacing the set screws and allowing some much quicker tuning changes.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Trumpet Design - our fantasies VB, what about auto tune violins? It would be technically VERY easy to do with a pickup, a little bit of electronics and some servos from model airplanes. 440 Hz guaranteed! We only have 4 strings to worry about! Then we could just play instead of mechanically "pitch finding"!
