No chance of me traveling so soon but it sounds like a great event.

Re: WCU Trumpet Festival

I am looking forward to this show, as you guys know I run the MD Trumpet Show and it will be nice to just be at the show for enjoyment. I will be hanging around the NYTC table and hope to connect with many of you at the show. A big thank you to JC and Felix for all the work, it aint easy.

Speaking of NYTC, I have been told by a little birdy that Felix is gonna have some very cool toys at the show, AND that there may be some sweet deals on his horns for attendees. At my show he gave some discounts to attendees, two of my students picked up Vintages.

That alone should get you going. I havent heard any specifics, but I know I may be doing a little shopping.

Again, hope to see you guys at the show.

Re: WCU Trumpet Festival

For those interested in trying them, Dr. Dave Harrison's Wedge Mouthpieces will be on display at the 2nd annual West Chester Trumpet Festival. Trumpet guru Pat Shaner and myself will be working the Wedge table on Saturday and Sunday with a wide variety of cups and backbores to try.

We hope to see many of you out to try these revolutionary new pieces!

Re: WCU Trumpet Festival

I'll be there -- registered today and got my hotel room reserved. This year I'll have real shoes.

Last year I got up early to make the drive up (couple of hours) from the D.C. area. I got my gear, hopped in the car and took off. About an hour up the road I stopped at a rest area. Soon as I stepped out on the lot I knew something was way wrong. I still had my slippers on. So I shuffled around the festival all day (it snowed a bit too) trying not to look too stupid.

Re: WCU Trumpet Festival

If all goes as planned (...what's that phrase? "...the best laid plans of mice and Trumpet Players???"_).... Both Ray Alexander and I will be there.

I say all this with caution...because you just never know. I had a nice gig this weekend that got cancelled because of a flurry of snow. Go figure... This makes me cautious....

Still...if it all ends up working out...I sure look forward to meeting some TM folks. We will probably only be there for a few hours on Sat, but hope to run into some online friends. Put faces to names.

Should be an amazing time.
