Re: What was your first horn?

My first horn was an Olds Ambassador, crinkled bell dents all over the place finish about half worn off, but it played great. I let my brother have it when I got my new horn, worst mistake of my life. I finally got it back in even worse shape than before, if you can believe it, but it think it still sounds better than my new trumpet.

Re: What was your first horn?

Olds Ambassador also. From the early '70's those are built like tanks and play well.

Re: What was your first horn?

Holton Collegiate. Played it through Jr. high and part of high school until I switched to a used Connstellation.

Re: What was your first horn?

My dad bought me a new Bach Strad Cornet when I started in the school band in 1957. Not having much money he was able to convince my mother to postpone buying a new vacuum cleaner so that I could have the cornet.

Re: What was your first horn?

Hi,

If I recall, my first horn was a "hand-me-down" Bundy cornet. My second one was a new Conn Director cornet. My third one was a new Reynolds Contempora cornet. Today, I own a used Conn Consellation long cornet (circa late 1960's-1970's?) with 38A on the receiver. It is in excellent condition. After retirement, I purchased a short model Blessing 141 Artist cornet with shepherd's crook. I realize the Blessing brand may be considered "junk" by some on TM, but the Blessing was affordable for a Comeback Player like myself who plays for a hobby. I don't make a living playing on the horn, so the Blessing cornet works for me.

Best wishes!

Lloyd

Re: What was your first horn?

My first horn was a Yamaha cornet. I did not play on a trumpet until high school.
