Re: What is your main horn?

Burbank Benge trumpet from about 1955 - serial number 3629.

Also a Strad 184 MLS short cornet from around 1985 on occasion, depending on the sound I'm looking for at the moment.

[quote=DaveH;315208]1. French Besson Classic (made by Kanstul) - Najoom leadpipe

Now there's a versatile horn. Sold a Calicchio to buy one after I'd played it. It is my only horn.

Re: What is your main horn?

A "frankenhorn" an unwitting collaboration by Jason Harrelson,Chris Comer, and myself. It is an Olds Ambassador Harrelson 990 heavy modification; I had Chris (A Minor Tune-UP) install a larger Martin Galaxy bell and then I installed a "custom" mouthpipe I concocted. Chris did a real nice brushed texture to it. It is NOW my favorite playing horn. I think it sounds like a cross between a good Bach and a Martin Committee......

Re: What is your main horn?

Bach lacquer lightweight 37 lately but still pick up my Schilke B3 at times and have it on hand. It all depends on what I am currently working on and what fits the situation the best.
