| My main horn is a Yamaha short lightweight cornet. Now I have a Lawler Model B, a Blessing Super Artist from 1947, a Jean Baptiste pro plus a Pocket Trumpet, a Bach Strad Flugel, and a Holton Cornet. I am a "Comebacker" with limited talent and lots of Impulse. (Would you believe a Jupiter slide trumpet ?) |

| Re: What is your main horn? Hi prosperhsbandnerd-sounds like you have a wonderful horn. As for the areas where the silver has worn off (where your hands come in contact with the silver), my repair guy Dick Akright advised me to put some clear nail polish in these areas to preserve the horn, so you don't have to refinish it (at least right away). This protects your investment of a nice vintage horn. I have done this on a few spots on my vintage martin committee-I plan on gold plating it later but in the mean time it is protected. You may choose to never refinish your bach and this will keep it in good shape-congrats on your trumpet! |
