| New Friend | Re: What is your main horn? I play (and love!) a late 60's Getzen Eterna Severinsen model, it is the horn my dad used in high-school. I've only been playing for 4 years (I'm 15 now) and I don't know much about trumpets and haven't played many, but I still like the one I have. Last edited by m13a8 : 10-28-2007 at 06:42 PM. |

Re: What is your main horn? Yamaha YTR 6335 MV model. Superb all around horn, in tune, free blowing and versatile. Quiet and pretty, loud and sizzling. Whatever you put into it comes out beautifully. Michael McLaughlin

Re: What is your main horn? Silver Bach 37 with no real alterations than an elongated guide for the third slide and a water key for the third slide. However, I will be soon trying a Chicago and New York Yamaha Artist models, so things may change. If they are as good as my Chicago C it will definitely be a Yamaha.

Re: What is your main horn? I like playing the Weltklang flugel best, so at the moment I'd have to say it was my main horn. It was my Grandfather's, and is a wonderful blow. I had the tuning pipe replaced on it, but that's all. The trumpet has had no modifications... yet! I think it's nearly due to have an overhaul. Finally got around to matching mouthpieces with the trumpet after too many years! Life is so much easier! And this is my first post, hello all!

Re: What is your main horn? My new horn is a custom Thein MH-One (Matthias Höfs Model) piston valve trumpet. It is silver-plated except the bell which is lacquered. The trumpet is completely hand-crafted except the Bauerfeind valve cluster, that is just the best. It has a gold brass bell with 130mm diameter and a 3cm nickel silver annulus(?). The bell is also changeable. It has a dark and resonant sound. Very warm at piano and very strong, "German" at forte. Simply the best trumpet I have ever played Last edited by annapurna : 10-30-2007 at 05:25 AM. Reason: Fotos added
