Monette 993

For parades and some outdoor concerts where I don't know how we will be packed in I use a Bach ML 37

Re: What is your main horn?

Currently a Vintage One 1BR with the stock BR-46 leadpipe switched out for a B-50 leadpipe.

Also have a 1973 Strad with a replaced leadpipe due to excessive pitting on the old pipe, some brace changes, and an additional tuning slide. This one is still in the shop, I hope to pick it up at the end of August when I am back in Iowa for a wedding.

Re: What is your main horn?

The Teatro -- a collaboration between Bruce Lee and Eclipse. Getzen valves, an open 25 style leadpipe, a lighter 37 style bell (bell by Kanstul, leadpipe by Eclipse). ML bore, silver plate. Heavywall receiver. It has a great open blow and is very in tune. Hopefully these horns will be produced again in the future.

Backup horn is a Bach 180-37ML with a Melk MTV-525 leadpipe.

Bach strad 43H reverse leadpipe in silver. all stock, unless you count the metal valve guides I put in instead of the factory plastic ones (big improvement)

Bruce received a run of horns from Eclipse and sold them all very quickly; BUT, he then up and moved to Argentina! It's been a bit since I've talked to him...don't know much about the status of the horns, but he's living the good life! With the price of Elkhart Strads now, the Teatro is a winner. I know that folks will dis it because the various components are sourced from different places, but it outplays my 1999 Strad in every way.
