![]() | I have repeatedly said that the ZeuS is a decent horn , so I don't see how you say I am bashing ZeuS, however if you want to know what I am sick and tired of is the constant SALES PITCH that the Good Reverend and the other ZeuS DEALERS constantly spew whenever anyone posts about ZeuS. Also, Big Aggie Trpt , I don't really give a dern what you think, about it , to be quite frank. We are all entitled to express our own opinion , so I guess you will have to get used to it. Anything else ? |

| Fortissimo User | These threads remind me of the cartoon where a guy is watching a fight in the parking lot of a bar. Fellow comes up to him and asks "Why are them two over there fighting?" The guy answers "Well, one of 'em drives a Ford and one of 'em drives a Chevy and there ain't no better reason to fight than that!" |

| Fortissimo User | And THAT causes me to think of a new joke: A drunken redneck hauls his old pickup into the parking lot behind the Symphony Hall. An enormous fight is going on between two guys dressed in tails. So the redneck wanders over to a bystander (who is holding a violin) and asks.... "So what's going on?" And the violinist replies "Well, those are two trumpet players and one of them believes in the teachings of Doc. Reinhardt and the other was schooled in the Jerome Callet method.... and to a trumpet player, there isn't a better reason to fight than that!" |

![]() | Contradicted myself ? ? Wow , Big Aggie Trpt , I guess you really shut me up . Please I can't stand it anymore , you ZeuS guys are just too much . I guess I just didn't realize what I was up against ! Seriously, my opinion that the Zeus is a decent trumpet (and really nothing more than that ) is shared just about by everyone I know who has played them. If they were really a SUPERHORN, like some of the ZeuS boys claim then people who be buying them like crazy, and I just don't see that happening through the network of Zeus dealers. No offense intended to the Good Reverend. Zeus is a decent horn , nothing more. I'm sorry that you guys get you blood pressure up just because the restof the world doesn't extoll the virtues of the Almighty Zeus. |

Have you played a Zeus, ever, even once? No, I didn't think so. Leave the comments on Zeus to those who own or have at least played them and we'll leave the pointless commentary to you. | |

![]() | WELL , FOR YOUR INFO , I have played on ZeuS trumpets , and that is exactly why I say what I do about them, They are a decent trumpet. I have played a Zeus Olympus and a Guarnarius, and I did not like the O at all --way to big 470, nope , I felt that it played decently for a horn with that big a bore , but it is not the be all and end all of trumpets that the ZeruS guys try to make everyone believe. Now I think that the G is a much more useful horn and it is a decent recreation of the Bach Mt. V , but it stlll does NOT PLAY AS WELL AS A HOLTON T101, which is a much better recreation of a MT. V. So, there you have it , I have played on three or four ZUESSIES. |

![]() | Trumpeters that normally play ml and m bore trumpets probably should not comment about XL bore trumpets, at least critically. Generally, large bore players have a much different setup than m and ml players (different mpc, different embouchure even), so with very few exceptions, few people work at both ends of the spectrum.
