![]() | Dearman trumpets Hi Everyone. I just got home from my local music shop. They've had a horn in there for quite some time and I bought it today. Anyway has anyone heard of the "Dearman" brand? It's a small bore horn with "Dearman Master" engraved on the bell in the midst of quite an intricate engraving. I'm told it would have been made around the 20s or 30s, but that's all the info I've found so far. Any ideas? I'll post some pictures as soon as I can get them on the computer. |

![]() | Re: Dearman trumpets Dearman - Czech made D.L.G. Ets.; Czech-made stencil horns. (from Horn-u-copia.com) "Dearman was the House stencil name used by J.E. Dallas (who went on to be part of Dallas-Arbiter)." (from saxontheweb.net) Is there any engraving on the bell? Some of the pre-war saxes say "Made in Czechoslovakia." Or maybe "Foreign" stamped next to the serial number? There seems to be even less info on Dearman brass instruments than the woodwinds. Where mentioned, the quality of the Dearman instruments seems to be high. HTH, Jude |

![]() | Re: Dearman trumpets Thanks Jude, yes, there's quite an intricate engraving on the bell (I'll post photos of it tommorow) it doesn't say "made in czechoslovakia" or "Foreign" on it but it does have J.E Dallas & sons engraved onto it as well as saying "Dearman Master" anyway, thanks again for your help. Matt. |

![]() | Re: Dearman trumpets "Foreign" = manufactured outside the UK (pre-1960). There's info about Dearman instruments at Rudy Muck Background and History - England Page. Lots of pictures, maybe you can find something similar to yours. |
