| Re: Martin Committee Bore Size? Pull the 2nd valve slide. Measure the inside diameter of the slide you just pulled and not the pipe extending off of the valve block. This should be the bore size. Both of my Martin cornets are medium bores. Neither has a star over the serial number. One is a Committee and the other a Indiana. Last edited by Toobz : 04-16-2008 at 07:05 PM. |

| Re: Martin Committee Bore Size? Hello, This is rather irrelevant, but I thought I'd bring this to your attention. On ebay, there is a Martin Committee, however underneath the standard engraving, there is additional Imperial engraving. Both inscriptions appear identical to the respective models, but I wasn't sure if there was ever an Imperial Committee model made. Just thought I'd mention it. cheers |

| Re: Martin Committee Bore Size? I found it. It's not like any Committee's I've seen. Wrong braces, wrong style and too many. Water keys are different . It may be a Frankentrumpet. Definitely weird ! |

The www.dallasmusic.org/index website is rife with errors, in regard to Martin horns. I have contacted the author / webmaster of the website, with no response. I caution any / all to be careful in treating this "information" as "gospel". BTW -- I have one of the (mythical ?) medium large bore Committees. It's a mid-1940s horn ... a prototype ... with Renold Schilke's personal hallmarks on many of the components. It is very, very unusual (especially, the bracing) ... has several standard Committee components. ~ Namaste .... Yogi Robt | |
