![]() | Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY My 1976 Holton T401. I just finished polishing it with a Glow Cloth and it looks loads better than it did before. It's got nickel silver finish, and from my research, it has a solid nickel bell. It plays and sounds quite like a Committee. It does have a seal on the leadpipe, but it doesn't effect its tone. It sounds darker than the other newer Holtons I've played on. I originally bought it as a trumpet to practice if my main horn was locked in the band hall, but it's found its niche as my jazz horn. And yes, I have the tuning slide pulled out that far. The only mouthpieces I have that fit it are 7C, and I have to use the slide to compensate. ![]() ![]() ![]() Close up of the nifty slide stop. ![]() Close up of the medallion thingy. ![]() Picture of it before being polished thoroughly.

![]() | Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY 1969 Conn 76A Connquest cornet I recently picked up on eBay. Big .485 bore, only 13-1/2" long - a short cornet without a shepherds crook! ![]()

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY It would be easier if you give as a picture of the bell (front) with the logo. My teacher, Murray Greig, had a cornet that looked pretty similar, it was labeled "Lammar" Brevete, supposedly won some french competition for cornet builders. It was quite old. It was fun to play, though not the most comfy to hold.
