Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Either 1.5C or 3C Bach on trumpet and 2B Wick on cornet.
Are the traditional 'German" style pieces like the cookie cutters for cornet?

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Not neccesarily.

At least when it comes to Swedish mpc's I've seen everything from VERY sharp and small rims to huge flat ones! My Bb cornet mpc is bigger and wider than a Bach 1!

As I said; I'll look around and see if I can find something!

Cheers!

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Yesterday I became the proud owner of an Olds Flugelhorn produced in Fullerton, Calif. in 1965. It plays beautifully and it has only minor wear on the lacquer as well as very minor scratches and dings. Really nothing to even repair as they are more character indicators.

Special thanks to Dave for his thoughtful insights re: Olds Flugelhorns!

I am attaching some pictures for anyone interested in viewing my new horn.

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Thanks. The Olds Flugelhorn was a great find and I'm lucky to have a horn that sounds so good. I will play it every day along with my other horns.

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Solid horn!!
That's in terrific shape. it's got a slightly tighter wrap than my Yamaha. I just love those horns. A lot of times they come with a series of small dings on the wrap underneath the 1st valve slide, from people pulling on that slide too much, and having it pop out and nail the tubing.
Your horn is in great condition, I'm more than happy to help you out with any questions or the like.

Best of luck!! (we're going to pretend that this guy is playing an Olds L-12)
