BrassIgloo will become famous soon enough
I have a Recording trumpet with an Opera first slide trigger. It looks factory and it's engraved USN on the bell. This horn's bell is nickel plated to boot.

Here's some not-too-vintage eye candy of my favorite horn of all time, my personal, gold-plated Wild Thing short model cornet made in 2002, before Flip went with the current, fancy name engraving on the bell.

I took the photo one night in a motel room . . . somewhere out "on the road," then added the text later. This was before I got my Warburton short shank cornet backbore gold-plated.

Man . . . what a horn . . . one that plays as great as any horn ever made in any era . . . and one that will be a prized heirloom one day, long after I'm dead and buried!

Hope you like the new, but vintage-looking eye candy!!!

T.

Hi Tom

Really enjoy this thread...some cool horns!

I have finally managed to photograph a couple of my old horns..The first is a 1958 Selmer Paris K-Modified #25....It has a .468 bore and words and the photographs can't describe the beautiful resonating sound, the depth of colour in the aged laquer and the wonderful ornate engraving...

I understand it was built about 4 years after the great MK6 Selmer Sax was launched.

Regards

Walter

PS An older one is on the way

Hi Wayne

Welcome to TM...... from one newbie to another.

The detail of the bell is mostly a straight shot and the full horn is a composite of two photographs....I used Photoshop software to acheive this.

I took them in a studio using reflective techniques similar to the ones described in the forum linked.

This thread should be really helpful.....

Regards

Walter
