Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY Just to keep this thread rolling here is a photograph of my 1934 Selmer Balanced...it is a great player and is all the more special to have L.Armstrong engraved on the valve block. ![]() I hope we will see some more beautiful horns soon! Walter

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY Hi Dale Thanks for your interest... Here is another photograph........as you can see there are some signs of wear particularly around the valves...I have always been encouraged by this....it shows that is was played...hopefully by a good player of the time. There was a compression issue so I had the valves done...when Steve (Dr. Valve) did the overhaul he said "Wow...what a player... I wish it was mine". It is a medium bore horn that plays very open ...no tightness at all....I play this horn mostly fo my own pleasure...it is like a time machine that gives me a taste of music in the 30's. ![]() Regards Walter

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY Thanks Richard I used a digital camera, three flash heads, white background paper and lots of white card for reflection.....the reflective technique is similar to the ones described (much better than I could) in the forum linked. http://www.trumpetherald.com/forum/v...907&highlight= Regards Walter
