Wurlitzer Cornet

I have a very old (not sure how old yet) Wurlitzer Cornet, came with a Mt vernon mouthpiece, ornately engraved in rough shape. does play however, No dents in the bell, stuck slides, a few dings in the slides, it has a very nice tone quality. Are these horns sought after? i'm not selling it, but was wondering if it would be worth restoring.

thanks

Re: Wurlitzer Cornet

It's hard to say without knowing it's pedigree and seeing some photos. Go to Horn-u-copia and scroll down to the Wurlitzer line. There is a history of the firm and 3 pages of photos and description of many cornets. Maybe one like yours is there. Wurlitzer sold cornets made in many places, Germany, Bohemia, USA (Conn, YorK), maybe Cinncinati also.
