 | York Feathertouch Trumpet Hello, I've recently come accross a large bore York Feathertouch trumpet and I'm getting closer and closer to making it mine. Can anyone tell me anything about the horn? I would be buying it without playing it (always and interesting proposition)and would love any information I could get about how they play. Thanks, Nate |

| Re: York Feathertouch Trumpet I had one for awhile, very high tech valve system for a horn that old, it played beautifully,amazing feel to the valve action, it scared me though, all I could think of is what happens if one of those little delicate springs breaks? | Re: York Feathertouch Trumpet Those valves are one of the reasons that I keep getting drawn to the horn. I've never seen any like them and I admit that I'm facinated by the system. |

|  Re: York Feathertouch Trumpet I have both a Trumpet and a Cornet Master, with the patented "feathertouch" valves. I scored a rare find, subsequent to the acquisition of the horns ... a set of those valve-springs (N.O.S.). Also, I have an music magazine ad, describing the valves and their features. Interestingly, the cases for the horns are (in my opinion) simply gorgeous. Faux alligator. Subjectively, the horns play (and sound) "solid". Hard to qualify the tonal-aspect (as LOU has mentioned). They do not easily produce "coloration" (rich, harmonic overtones). Excellent low-register, and wide partials. Yogi Robt |
