Wow - Hee Haw! What a flashback! I grew up with my Nana, who watched Hee Haw every week. Being a jazz nazi back then, I was disgusted with the show until they brought on Lyle Lovett - that sure got my attention! I hated all that old country stuff until I got older - now I can appreciate it because that's what my mom's side of the family plays, and some play it very well. Beswides, the lyrics are really funny... ;)

Re: Playing with Metallica

Hi,
I guess we should have had a separate Hee Haw thread! I had no idea that so many of you would have seen that show. Flugelgirl, I felt the same way growing up. I hated watching that show, but now I really appreciate a lot of the music that I grew up on. I'm a pretty big Allison Krauss fan, and I don't even mind the Dixie Chicks sometimes. Thanks for all the posts. Keep those Hee Haw memories coming!

I was the opposite of you. I didn't really listen to anything classical until late in high school. My music culture growing up was mostly watching a TV variety show called Hee Haw. (No I'm not kidding.) Does anyone out there remember Hee Haw? Anyway I listened to mostly country music until middle school and then I got hit with the head banger bug. So playing with Metallica was especially exciting for me because I liked them growing up.

Thanks for the post.
Best,
Andrew
Hi Andrew, as may have been evident in an earlier post on multi-tonguing...I too was (well, still am) a metal fan. I LOVED the S&M album, and for the longest time I tried to track down a copy of the score to no avail. Would you happen to know if it's available? It would be great to see the trumpet part too, if you knew how to get ahold of it...

Hi Hags888,
I wish I could help. I have no idea how to get you a part. I haven't seen one since the last show. You could possibly try the library at the San Francisco Symphony. They may at least have a direction that you could look.
Good Luck.
Andrew
