 | Blue Mitchell On this day (3/13) in 1930,Blue Mitchell (Minor Vamp) was born. A much under-rated player who deserves greater recognization. Many years later,Terence Blanchard arrived on said day and who is contributing to maintain that proud 'brass' tradition. Happy birthday and long live BOP ! |

| Re: Blue Mitchell When ever Horace came to Philly I got a chance to hang with Blue and Junior. They were a magical front line. You had to snap you fingers and pat your feet when they played. Blue was one of the nicest and most modest guys I knew. I miss him. Wilmer |
