Man. It's so great to see Maurice Andre clips. I never would have guessed that he uses hand vibrato!

Bedankt, Erik

Sergei sounds like he's practiced once or twice in his life, doesn't he?

Sergei? So much for the 'flat chin embochure being ineffective' idea!

And Tom Harrell, what a bright sound he gets out of the same I horn I get a rather dark sound out of. Now if I could just play as fast as he does.

And Doc! What a sound and what an entertainer!

Hi Eddie,
He sounded like that when he played in Brooklyn. He was 14 years old at the time.

Contrast the valved trumpet with the natural trumpet. The natural wins the speed competition hands down.
Both versions are spectacular and valid.

FWIW Bill Tom plays a 36B, the lightweight, small bell model Connie. Am I an equipment geed or What? ;)

It's amazing to see Tom play, especially given the fact he has so many "demons" inside... he's a paranoid Schizophreniac if people don't know that. I think I read that he jumped threw a window because inside his voices inside told him to.

Yeah, that is amazing!

36b? I might have to see about getting my hands on one of these. Hey, Trent, I see your Connie went to a new home at a good price for you--congrats!!
