I remember watching that one when it originally aired! The Muppet Show had a LOT of great entertainers "getting outside their boxes" over the years.

Thanks for finding it. Now... where is the skit where Diz is dressed up in a silk jacket and turban like a "Sheik of Araby"!?

Wow! That brought back some great memories. Thanks for posting that link!

On the regular show, I liked the muppet at the end of the intro music that always tried to play the high note on the trumpet and missed horribly. Every week it was something different that caused him to miss that note. Then one week, he screamed out a note an octave above what he was always trying to play (I'm guessing that they had Jon Faddis record that note). The look of bewilderment combined with satisfaction on that little guys face is something that I'll always remember!

Muppet Show - High Note Screamer

Bob McCoy was the trumpet player on the show. He told me he did that sequence. At the time, he had the "chops".
