My 'Messenger' recording of 'It's Only A Paper Moon", recorded 'LIVE' at Sankei Hall,Tokyo,Japan on January 2,1961 features the late and great LEE MORGAN on trumpet. Am I to understand that somethin' is missing from my Hubbard's Cupboard ? |

| Re: Freddie Hubbard Quote: Can you please place a year on that performance. Now that Herbie Hancock won the recording of the year (2007),can someone post a video (if available) of Mr.Hubbard's 1965 stellar performace on "Maiden Voyage" with George Coleman. After Dec 21,1963,the bar was raised and the challenge was met by a selected few. | |

| Re: Freddie Hubbard Joe, I don't know for sure where or when that Freddie clip was recorded. I found it by searching for Freddie videos on youtube. The guy who posted it is from Italy. Here is his collection of videos: YouTube - Aducal's Channel |

I went through the clips you included in your response and enjoyed Ave Maria by Maurice Andre. My only jazz version of Ave M. is a 1974 vinyl by Eumir Deodato titled Whirlwinds and the trumpet players were restrained from increasing the wind speed and volume,if you know what I mean. The trumpet section included: Marvelous Marvin Stamm;Alan Rubin;John Faddis;Victor Paz;John Eckert;Larry Spencer. Live the good life . KJ | |

| Re: Freddie Hubbard You guys never seem to speak of Freddie's period when he went over to the "DARK SIDE"! (columbia '70's) THE WIND JAMMER BUNDLE OF JOY SPLASH LOVE CONNECTION LIQUID LOVE SUPER BLUE (kind of came back to his senses). Man! Some of this stuff was straight-up BUBBLE GUM, But Freddie was still blowing down the house on them. One of my all time favorites is his take on MISTY from his SWEET RETURN session. FREDDIE!! |

| Re: Freddie Hubbard Holy Crap! I bought all those Columbia sides back in the day hoping each time the real Freddie would stand up! super Blue was way cool because it was the first time I had seen a Callichio up close on an album cover. Errr Vinyl records were contained in cardboard sleeves known as album covers - for those who are less vintage than myself Cheers, Brian |
