| Re: Giant Steps How about this one? YouTube - Giants steps solo by a Robot! Saxophone is easy. Even a robot can do it. I would like to see them make a trumpet robot that can play the Trane solo, or the Jolivet Concerto, etc. |

With such a large force embracing and pushing the synthesizer and its phoney sounds,I sometimes find myself standing alone while pushing back and pushing hard. Above this frame is a picture of Herbie Hancock a cat I once loved and who today is more wired than the lines Con Ed owned between Grand Army Plaza north to Tillery Avenue.

If you love Herbie Hancock, you should check out that album, "River". It won the grammy for "album of the year". It is pretty much an acoustic album. Beautiful playing from Herbie & Wayne Shorter, and some nice vocals by Corrine Bailey Rae, Tina Turner, Luciana Souza, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell. I really love "Nefertitti", featuring Wayne, and "Both Sides Now". I think it is hard to get any better than Herbie & Wayne together. JS

| Re: Giant Steps After picking my jaw up off the floor with the robot clip, i thought how similar it is to a good (and I mean good!) ol' church organ! OK, just one stop, but what a crazy type of organola it would be if it were a whole big band! Techology is bringing us back to the middle ages.... |
