I almost missed it. Happy Birthday Freddie. I just started listening to you three weeks ago, but what a three weeks it's been.

Probably the most influential trumpet player on my development (though the list is long....). Happy B'day Freddie, I'm going to put "First Light" on....

Happy Birthday Freddie.

I still think Freddie has the greatest sound of all jazz trumpet players. It is dark and round while being bright and brilliant at the same time.

Hi. I also share Freddie's birthday of April 7th, but don't forget...Billy Holiday was also born then too.

If I'm to follow my heart,I'll nod my head in agreement with your remarks.
However, following my head and being there in the "BIG APPLE" during the early 60's to witness many shootouts along the "two way rifle range" from Houston Street North to 57th Street,I'll be less than honest if I omitted -
Mr.Lee Morgan and Mr.Thaddeus Joseph Jones.

Let's not quibble about greatness as here in Pittsburgh,Pa my elders would be the first to mention Roy Eldridge and Billy May.

Keep BOP Alive !
