I always thought Mr.Keepnews,like myself,had a soft spot for Bill Evans.
I'm sure the Country Preacher (Julian 'Cannonball') may have converted him in
going out on a limb,in such a fashion :)

I think Orrin liked Bill better: his point was that Joe would tell you he was the best and believe it totally. Made him what he was. And he could make a good argument, there were few in his class.

I never knew that Mr.Zawinul was one of those self proclaimed 'great' players. It now leaves me to wonder who influenced JACO P.to utter said remarks.
