Solar Bell has a spectacular aura about
JONAH!

Oh Wise One...er....2

In your many travels, did you know or work with Jonah Jones at any time.
Along with Bunny he is my favorite. His "Muted Jazz" lp was flat out the best jazz record I've ever worn out. And I wore out three copies of it.
He put on a clinic on "Undecided"
He spent a lot of time in NY and just wondered if you knew him.

Jonah lived not far from Jimmy Owens. I met Jonah at Jimmy's place and we became friends. He gave me a copy of a recording he made with the Casa Loma band, it is stunning.
Cab Calloway's band must have been something to hear. A section with Lammar Wright, Dizzy Gillispie, Mario Bauza and Jonah Jones must have sounded incredible. Oh.....and Jonah claims that HE was the guy that hit Cab with the spitball that caused the famous fight with Cab and Diz. Diz is the ONLY guy in the section that denies hitting Cab
