Lew Soloff or Marvin Stamm were usually there on lead. Richard Williams, Jimmy Bossy, Steve Furtado or Cecil Bridgewater were the trumpets. Faddis appeared on the NYC scene about 1974 or 75. He was instantly put on the lead chair.

Jimmy Bossy and Steve Furtado. There's a couple of names I haven't heard in a while. Any idea what they're up to nowadays?

Tom Barreca
Steve was the lead trumpet player for the entire New York run of the Wiz. Charles Sullivan aka Kamau Adilifu and Richard Williams were the other players in the section.
Steve passed away more than ten years ago.
R.I.P.

Jimmy Bossy did the Broadway run of Annie. He left town soon after the show closed. I have heard he passed away.

I saw David a few years ago at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild.
Those two reed men were monsters and will always remain on my favorite list
of musicians.
Met them both around 1963 and Joe was the new kid on the block who was cookin' with high heat and almost burned down The Gate at Bleeker and Thompson.
Thanks for the memories.

I could be wrong but it looks like a Brooklyn Kosher bagel without the cream cheese or lox.
Absent of a cup of coffee in his hand suggests the photo shoot was staged.
Let's not forget that the WISE ONE was a fixture at those staged Broadway shows.

Like the man said: "YOU ARE THE MAM" O Wise One :)

Wishing you all a Happy,Healthy, and Prosperous New Year.
