I think that title must go to the trumpet player, Valaida Snow.

Hanging with Tootie and Jimmy Heath at NCCU was a pleasure. We need to get the Barratteers together for a reunion, there still a few of us around.

Earlier this evening I was at the Guild listening to a local born native named Ahmad Jamal and he mentioned Dr.Jimmy's name in glowing terms and played one of his compositions.

By the away, any 'ringers' allowed to join the Barratteers re-union party ?
I'll bring the VINO and I promise to sit still and listen to the Wise Ones converse in hushed tones.

Live the good life.
