Old Men dream dreams! WOW!

The other night...after Christmas shopping late with my wife, we stopped by at our favorite Gig Harbor KINZA TERIYAKI and a picked up some "smokin" Yakisoba-Udon Tempura.
Got to bed quite late.....but talk about OLD MEN DREAMIN DREAMS...WOW!

Guess its kinda that time of year...when my thoughts (n' dreams) turn to great times gone too soon about friends departed. This dream was so vivid about an old trumpet mentor Flyod Standifer who passed just after Christmas.

I remember being introduced to Floyd by another long time trumpet mentor and friend, the late Roy Cummings, the trumpet professor at the U of W and because of that I made a habit of hangin' at Floyd's Seattle "NewOrleans" at his weekly mid-week gig where Floyd played every week up until almost the very end of his life. He passed last Jan.

GADS! THESE TWO GIFTED GIANTS OF JAZZ AND TRUMPET LEFT A HUGE HOLE...but thankfully the void has been filled by many many students that these two ICONs taught well.
Their memory will live in our Jazzoidal' souls and hearts...until we meet again as promised.
May the Holidaze' bring Peace, Joy and with that God Rest Ye'Merry Brass minded..Gentlemen and Gentlewomen.

Here attached is for the memories of these two amazingly gifted trumpet performers, teachers and friends to so many.
opps!
(too large a file again...)
I will just attach Roy Cummings instead again
