 | Patti Bown Patti was the pianist with the Quincy Jones band in 1960 when I had the pleasure to sub for the lead player one night. For some reason we became friends. We stayed in touch over the years. Patti was the pianist for the New York Jazz Gang, one of Wynton's first gigs. Patti passed away a few weeks ago, and I was stunned to learn of that just today.
