Whatever stories that are available about my dad or my grandfather, I want to hear them. Trust me when I say that I'm probably familiar with most of them anyway since I went everywhere with him. | Piano User | Re: Reunald Jones One of the interesting thing I have read about Reaunald Jones was that he was part of the older group of musicians in Basie's band of the fifties. Guys like Marshall Royal, Freddie Greene (obviously), Bobby Plater, and Jones were not products of the forties or fifties, but had had some big band experience in the thirties, which meant that their musical origins were pre bop. I also think this is one of the secrets of the sound of the "New Testament" Basie Band, the steadying influence of these veteran musicians.
