I've never seen Mr.Dotson performed but having just reviewed his Resume',I can't believe I missed him during his 1964 performances with JIMMY OWENS.
If my memory is correct,I recall 1st seeing Jimmy at either the Jazz Gallery or the Ski Lodge in NYC .

In reviewing the list,I observed Cecil Payne's name - is he still with us ?
Mr.Payne resided around the corner from Kenny Dorham on President Street

Damita's MDs were always fantastic. I worked her act many times. Al Dailey, Kirk Lightsey or Hobart lead on those various occasions.

First heard the name a few years ago when an elderly gent was ranting and raving what he bougth for $18.99 wasn't what he expected.
It appeared Janet Janet was masquerading as Damita Jo.

Hobart was her music director.
