| Re: The Trumpet Shall Sound- TPIN Thing [quote=rowuk;331605]Badboy, generally every horn needs a mouthpiece that "matches" its characteristics. From my personal experience in conversing with trumpeters for over 45 years, I've concluded that almost all trumpeters have their idiosyncrasies, and it was Mr.NAT ADDERLEY who convinced me that the mouthpiece is more important than the horn. I also know players who endorse a certain brand name ONLY because they received their's on a comp basis and would play with same in public but not always in the recording studio. Among other things, there is a reason why photography is prohibited during a live show. Imagine promoting Pepsi and Bad-Bad DON having a Kodak moment of you with Dr.Pepper . And so it goes ! |

However I wish that I could get an endorsment for my beloved RAINIER DRAFT beer...but like me....it too is becoming such a rare breed n' brew....All the photos shown with me...are with that near beer BUDLIGHT! :)))))) Not to vurry......I am not a good enough beer drinker or a trumpet player to glean any such $$$$$$ endorsements. I see that Wilmer has been ever so WISE by not taking "the Bach-a-holic Bait! :) In truth...OK! Yes, I have toyed with some pretty nice Bach horns...but I will never forget trading my beloved old Benge 3X for a lacky-luster Strad 180 ML from hell and I guess that is my reason for being such a Bach-basher. GADS I MISS THAT OL BENGE AND MY OLD ROAD RAGE BESSON. Forgive me...but I guess Absence makes the heart and chops grow fonder..n'allthatjazz. Last edited by BADBOY-DON : 12-28-2007 at 06:41 PM. | Re: The Trumpet Shall Sound- TPIN Thing I see that Wilmer has been ever so WISE by not taking "the Bach-a-holic Bait! :) Back, way back in the day,a French poet named Alphonse de Lamartine wrote: "Experience is the prophecy of a WISE man." Our man Wilmer is aptly named and is too discipline a person to fall, hook, line and sinker for any bait. How fortunate we are in having him,you and others to share their experiences with us .
