Again, not to take anything away from the band. They sound awesome.
What you see is what you get !
Until I see the band in a 'live' performance,I shall cast no negative judgement.
In parting, video wasn't an integral part of the recording scene when I started visiting the joints in the early '60s but almost 99.99% of the live recordings that were captured on vinyl and CD do represent an accurate description of the performance.

Miles live at Lincoln Center in early 1964 is a perfect example, and a gig
where George Coleman was out of this world and who took no prisoners.
In addition,Paul Desmond with the MJQ on Dec 25 (Christmas day) 1971,and Dexter Gordon at the VV in 1976 are perfect examples.
I wish the cats at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild would follow the 'Dave Douglas' example by producing a DVD with their live recording(s) to remove all doubts or questions.

LOL- how about we old timers who during the 60s sat in the second row of the Village Vanguard while Thad & Mel Band was performing and who got a drenching from the trumpet section that stood in the 2nd/3rd row ?
The trumpets were in the third/back row..........you would be surprised at the amount of things that were hidden in those funky curtains

That's right !
The "bones" were in the 2nd row while the reed players with Pepper and
Jerome occupied front row with Hank covering the flank.
That basement joint generated more electricity than Con Edison on a cold winter's night.
It's a crying shame that Max Gordon's name is not more frequently mentioned for his contribution in show-casing JAZZ and the practitioners who held court in his chamber.

Thanks for the correction and the memories !

Thanks Wilmer.
After my Army days (March 1971),I recall that Billy had replaced
Joe (Moon Germs) Farrell and Jermone Richardson was still active in the band.
As for Pepper Adams,he wasn't about to leave his fellow Wolverine at the hands of you New York resident players :)
