![]() | trickg, No problem. It does seem like more like the horns thread than one of mine, doesn't it? Schilke was my first teacher and my father worked in his shop from '67 - '76. I worked there for a few summers and one fall ('73) before moving to New York. Ren used to drag me around to the various trumpet events to demonstrate his high trumpets. . . heady stuff for a kid. cmcd, Yes. Trust me. The Earth didn't move. Best, EC |

| New Friend | Thanks Ed..everyone...for your comments and suggestions. I was honestly surprised to have so many hits on a new thread in less than 24 hours!! The information I have gotten here has helped me tremendously. I will look deeper into Weril. I sort of glossed over their website, mainly because I saw many of their student horns and thought, "Ahh...another turn and burn trumpet factory". I know, I know....jumping to conclusions too fast, but how many patient trumpet players do you know...really. I just joined this forum, and I am so happy to see a group of trumpet players from which I can glean some tips and info. Thanks again, |

| Filho de Deus, We have several Brazilians on this forum, and most of them are in Brazil. I'm in the states... One person you may want to contact is Heinz at heik@hotmail.com. Seems like a very nice gentleman. Send him an e-mail and ask for his assistance. I believe he is in Bahia. If I'm not mistaken he was educated here in the states - Boston / Charlie Schlueter. Meanwhile, if I can be of any help contact me directly. Word of caution on the Weril's... I've heard... and that's all, just heard that their old valve sections were giving folks some problems. Rumor is that they have improved them in newer production horns. You may want to check serial numbers and get the real scoop on changes. Nice user name by the way... vai com Deus meu irmao. Rogerio |
