| I remember hearing a Maurice Andre album "Surprise", I think. It wasn't exactly jazz, but it was commercial, it had some pretty amazing trumpet playing on it. I mean super clean licks up to double C, that guy is all over the horn, and it sounds absolutely effortless. |

![]() | Dylan, Needless to say, Maurice could really play (probably still can if he ever chooses to dust 'em off again). His attack was absolutely perfect in all registers and this, in my opinion, was the key to his legato. Standing in the same room and watching him play was one of great pleasures in my career.
