Did you know that Ornette wrote a concerto for trumpet? I premiered the work titled "The Sacred Mind of Johnny Dolphin" in 1984 with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Lukas Foss conducting. Wynton was at that concert. It had amplified strings and Marvin "Smitty" Smith, who played like a possessed Elvin. I wish that it had been recorded. Wilmer
