Some new (to me) pieces

Hi Ed,

I hope all is well with you. I was wondering if you have any experience with a couple of pieces and composers that I'd never been exposed to before. My teacher brought them to me and wants me to work on a few including the Theodore Holdheim Sonata and the Wal-Berg Concerto. Are you familiar with either work?

Thanks!
David

Re: Some new (to me) pieces

David,

A blast from the past...my first teacher (Ren Schilke) had me play the Wal-Berg Concerto (also the Gianinni) when I was in elementary school. It's obviously passed from memory at this point but couldn't have been very hard musically or technically.

I've never heard of the Holdheim Sonata. Can you, or other TMers, tell me something about it?

Best and watching here,
EC

here is a performance:

CategoryTest3

just click on the picture.

The audio is not so hot, but it is pretty well played!

Theodore Holdheim was a german that emigrated to Israel. I don't have anything more available without doing some serious research.

Re: Some new (to me) pieces

I'll post my thoughts on the Holdheim as I work on it more/feel like I have something worthwhile to add.

Thanks so far!
