Not to discount you thinking colors etc... (which I find very beautiful btw)...

I usually don't see SPOTS like that until I come off a really, really.. really long phrase.

Then I'm glad I was sitting down.

When I'm reading the music I think about the phrasing I'm using or supposed to use. When I'm playing by memory like performing a solo I start out thinking about the music but my mind always wanders.

This might sound weird but I miss big chunks of my playing while performing because my mind wanders.

I remember one time coming back to reality and not knowing where I was in the music. I was still playing but my mind was thinking where am I.

I was never so lost that I had to stop or messed up.
