The WWW

TMers,

Amazing what you can find on the world wide web, isn't it?

Janacek Sinfonietta - SesliTV video izle - Sesli TV

This was taken with the Akron Symphony in 1993. R - L: Bernie Adelstein (tpt #1), EC (tpt #2), John Wallace (tpt #3), tpts 4 - 8 CAN ANYONE HELP? (very embarrassing. . .sorry), Crispian Steele-Perkins (tpt #9)

I suppose this is a warning to dress decently and always play your best...you never know who's watching (and for how long).

Best, and hoping the blanks are filled
EC

Re: The WWW

At first blush I thought trumpet 4 was Charles Couch.

Sounds good! Lineup looked like a 27 Yankees kinda trumpet group.

(or 08 Cubs for you, Ed)

Ed-

What an eclectic group. A couple of English guys, one from Cleveland and one from Rotterdam (Montreal, California, VT???), half playing rotary horns... How did you all come together in Akron?

Re: The WWW

Can't help with the trumpet section, but there was some interesting reactions from the cello section - one lady even plugging her ears. Great job!

Re: The WWW

Ed,

Got one... trumpet 5 is Reiner Auerbach, at one time (maybe then) principal trumpet of the Dresden Opera and now principal trumpet of the Berliner Statsoper. Odd story with this guy is that he was on a bus returning to Dresden with the opera orchestra from Berlin when the Berlin wall fell and the bus driver heard this on the radio and stopped the bus and left. The rest of the orchestra took their things and walked the 20 km back to Berlin to see everything.

Re: The WWW

Matt,

I thought so but wasn't sure (senior moment). Ok. . . trumpet 4 is Charles Couch (Cleveland Orch) and trumpet 5 is Reiner.

I'm pretty sure that isn't Kenji Tamiya, as TD suggests (makes sense though). I toured Japan with Ten of the Best (Vizzutti, who was in the band, calls this "Two of the Best and Eight of the Rest") a few years back and Kenji was with us. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Nice to "see" you, Matt. I hope Luzern Festival is treating you well once again.

Best,
EC
