![]() | Greetings from Switzerland! Hello Folks! I'm a Student from Thun, living very close to the Alps, enjoying life in one of the most beautiful countries on earth! I've been playing the Cornet (Besson Sovereign) for more than 15 years now. In the Swiss Army Band we used to play on Bach Cornets - Not a bad machine - but it sounds neither as a cornet, nor as a trumpet... Sometimes I also played the Bugle (Olds & Son) - my favorite instrument! - and very rarely the Eb-Basse (Besson). Discovered an Olds & Sun Trumpet today on the garret - it made my day !! I haven't been playing for some months now, but I guess, I got infected by the virus again! Guess we're going to "hear" from each other soon! JC |

![]() | Re: Greetings from Switzerland! Some of my ancestors came from Switzerland and I wish I could visit there someday but I'll never be able to afford such a great trip. (I live in the middle of the United States.) Ich spreche Deutsche! (a little... OK, I admit that I misspelled "Deutsche" and I had to do a Google search to find out that there is an "s" in it... but high school German class was 35 years ago so much of my German language skill is "vergessen" (?)) My late grandfather's favorite German joke, prepare yourself because it is really *bad*: Question - "Wie gehts?" ["How goes it?" ie. "How are you?"] Answer - "The gate's fine but the fence is down." I am jealous of your *wonderful* cornet which costs more than my 12-year-old car. - Morris |
