Thank you for the nice welcome all,

Don't know exactly why I like the Corsair so much except the gull wing was so cool. and, then I found out the gull wing attribute was to keep the large diameter propeller from hitting the ground with that big 2000 HP Pratt and Whitney engine turning it.

Hah! I thought about the car too...we had one when I was a kid. About all I remember is the color (blue) and the french fries on the floor in the back from McDonald's (back when you had to eat it in the car).

I have a piston from one of those sitting on my desk at work; it hails from the days I used to work at P&W in Montreal and was a souvenir of my days of servitude to the aviation industry!

And those pistons are certainly larger than any car engine piston.
And the sound of those piston engines is very, very, thunderous, nothing like it at an air show.
